LifeLongLearning: Reinvention Book Thoughts and Notes #7

Reinvention: How to Make the Rest of your Life the Best of your Life is the book I am reading/ studying.  Preparing for an interview: part 4/4.

Today’s Key Thought is: Questions to consider before you go to your first interview.

“Before you go and look for a job, you must make some clear decisions about who you are and where you want to be in the future.  Here are some questions you should consider before you go to your first interview:

  1. What are your basic skills?  What can you do that someone in the marketplace would be willing to pay for?”
  2. What have you done especially well at your previous jobs in the past?  What activities have been most responsible for your success in your life work up to now?
  3. What activities in your work and personal life do you most enjoy?  You will almost always be most successful doing the things that you enjoy the most.
  4. what parts of your work do you do most easily and well?  What you’ve done well in the  past is often an indicatory of what you would do best in the future.

Taking the time to think through the answers to thses questions is half the job of getting the ideal position for you.  ”

This is from the AudioTech summary of the book page 9.
