Learn4Life: Create Courageous Conversations 13-16
Post inspiration: The Jan 2010 Compass Coaching Map I choose was Create Courageous Conversations. So, I decided to blog about it during the month.
This map was developed by Margie Warrell and Soni Pitts.
One other reason for blogging is that I enjoy batting ideas around and journal writing is not as engaging for me as blogging. Comments/ discussion welcomed.
Each day has a take away summary. They are great all by themselves as reminders.
Power Requests- Active – Descriptive- Speculative or PADS for short.
Day 13: Descriptive Conversations. A descriptive conversation describes a situation, problem or person: what’s working, what’s not working, what happened, what didn’t happen, what you believe “should” have happened, etc.
Day 14: Speculative Conversations. Speculative Conversations are about what we would like to see happen or change, what we would like to experience, or what could happen in the future to make thing better.
Day 15: Active Conversations. Action Conversations are about what needs to be done to create the change and achieve the results you want.
Day 12: Powerful Requests. Unless you are prepared to ask for what you want then you will have little chance of getting it.
Comment Suggestions:
-agree or disagree: Do have the right to impose our requests on others as suggested by powerful requests?
- Which of the 4 conversations did you have last?
